Hi, I’m Ingela Edwards, LPC.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in McKinney, Texas, with over 17 years of experience helping individuals and couples find healing after relational and developmental trauma. My practice is built on the belief that even in the aftermath of profound pain, healing and growth are possible. I specialize in working with clients impacted by betrayal trauma, infidelity, problematic sexual behaviors, narcissistic abuse, complex PTSD, and family of origin trauma.

I provide a supportive and structured space for individuals and couples to rebuild safety, reclaim their sense of self, and move toward post-traumatic growth. I tailor my approach, using a blend of  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family System tools (IFS), adapting to your unique need and situation.

My work is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based practices. I also integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help clients process trauma at a deeper level and find lasting relief from the distress that keeps them stuck.

On a personal note, I was born in Sweden and later moved to Kuwait, where I attended British and American schools. I came to the US for college and have since lived in Louisiana, New Mexico, and now Texas for the last 25 years. My multicultural background serves me well in understanding differences in family structures and values.
